A NEW CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABILITY FOR THE NEW GENERATIONS

BARILLA FOUNDATION FOR THE NEW GENERATIONS

Food stands as a universal value that can be interpreted in a nutritional, cultural, environmental, social, and economic sense. Food helps us to understand a fundamental relationship: what’s good for our individual health is also good for the community and our Planet.

Barilla Foundation is therefore imploring the younger generations to build a healthier and more environmentally friendly future:
“Us, Food, Our Planet” is an educational program aimed at teachers from all types of school and of every grade, and is the focus of a memorandum of understanding with the Italian Ministry of Education to offer a variety of tools to encourage innovative lesson planning.

US, FOOD, OUR PLANET

Digital Experience

Us, Food, Our Planet is presented as an interactive digital gaming experience, to enter into direct dialog with the Planet and understand the effect of our dietary behaviors.

Young people can take quizzes and play interactive games, to find out more about global problems and concrete solutions for active citizenship. The aim is to build a better future, taking food as a starting point.

SkillED – Key skills for building sustainability knowledge through food

Barilla Foundation’s educational commitment also has an international aspect, made possible by an Erasmus+ project that aims to build a framework of certified skills to teach food and environmental sustainability. This three-year project began in 2020.

Barilla Foundation heads the project, which involves teachers from Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, Latvia, and Greece.
