It has frequently been noted that economic analyses based solely on GDP can often be misleading. In this context, the awareness that people’s overall well-being depends on a plurality of variables is spreading more and more widely. These considerations include aspects related to lifestyles, food choices, health and environmental protection, which cannot be attributed exclusively to economic and material factors, in turn mainly for the purposes of policy decisions.
The objective of this work is to evaluate the aspect related to nutrition and lifestyles, within a multidimensional index for measuring and comparing people’s level of well-being in a selected group of developed countries.
